Wedding is something which is once in a lifetime experience. So, everyone has a wish to make their wedding one of the best ones. The most important thing in a wedding is guest satisfaction. Satisfaction in terms of food, entertainment, hospitality, etc. So, today I am going to discuss some ways to entertain guests at a Himachali wedding. Himachali wedding or Himachali Shadi is full of fun and social ceremonies which is as beautiful as their mountainous landscape. It is full of special rituals which make it a more fascinating one.
- Arranging a DJ night or a music band is quite common in all Indian weddings, where guests can dance and have fun. But we can add some extra on it such as a shoe game where the host asks questions to certain couples like who is a better cook and the couple will hold up the shoe.
- Arranging some interesting games like musical chair or antakshari, a music game where people are asks to sing songs according to the alphabet that they get. We can also arrange a scavenger hunt that is created and planned ahead of time of the wedding where guests are supposed to find things which are hidden in the reception hall within a period and the winner will be rewarded with various prizes.
- We can arrange a photo session among the guests with the traditional Himachali outfits like Busheri topi, silver ornaments, Tipu shawls, etc. That could be quite funny no?
- Turmeric which is known as “Haldi” in Hindi considered a holy herb plays a very significant role in Himachali weddings. So, during that Haldi rasam(ritual), there can be a musical event where guests can perform folk songs and dance.

- In Himachali Shadi we can arrange a food court, where people can enjoy some traditional Himachali dishes like Madra, Dham, Tudkiya Bhat, Bhey, Atkori, Trout fish, etc along with some fresh ups.
- We can also arrange a one-day trip to various famous places of Himachal which are nearer to the hotel or the resort where the wedding ceremony is going to take place along with a night stay in traditional Himachali houses. If time permits then places like Chalal, Malana, Manali, Shimla, etc are worth mentioning.
- Nowadays most teenagers have Instagram. So, we can have a hashtag slideshow. It’s a new unique concept where everyone can use a certain hashtag in their photos and those photos can be streamed on a big white screen at the wedding hall. It can surely entertain the guests.
- If budget permits then we can arrange a photo booth. A photo booth means a small room that is full of decorative items (includes flowers, faux framed wall, stand-up board, Polaroid frame, etc) where guests can go and click photos. It allows creating some stunning photos in a very effortless way. It can bring out lots of laughs from the guests and it is a perfect memory storage option.
